Quantum PLAY
WHAT IS IT?
|
TQT is the only group in Finland working on a new and exciting growing field, combining quantum technologies, game development, AI, art, and citizen science to reinvent scientific research and discovery. We believe that the current technological era demands for a radical shift in the mindset of scientists and in the way of conducting scientific research. Powerful new cognitive tools, enabled by the internet, may indeed greatly accelerate scientific discovery and revolutionise the way in which research is performed. We envisage a future in which citizen science will take a leading role and scientists will collaborate with non-experts by means of hybrid human-computer interactions exploiting new medias, such as video games, movies, virtual reality and augmented reality.

OUR RESEARCH
|
To reach this ambitious vision, we are collaborating with Aalto University (School of Science and School of Arts, Design and Architecture) and the Finnish Game Jam association (with whom we organise since 2014 the one and only Quantum Game Jam) to develop a new interdisciplinary environment aimed at both fostering our new research vision and educating a new generation of scientists with multidisciplinary background.
We also coordinate the European Project Quantum Play (QPlay) which is currently the first and only European project dedicated to this new approach within the Quantum Technology research. We expect this to lead not only to other scientific projects in this field (at national and European level) but also to new startup companies, and we are currently exploring within QPlay pathways to commercialisation |
